It’s so funny to me to say that I get a lot of my inspirations for these blogposts from my actual blog on Tumblr, you’d be surprised as to what you find on their It really is a good time, lol anyways. But one thing that spoke out to me the most on my Tumblr timeline this weekend is this picture. The picture is a depiction of some type of protest pertaining to proper consent. As a lot of know a large defense of men is that, “I was drunk, I didn’t mean to, or I didn’t know what I was doing. And more often than none these defenses are supposed to mean something to us as victims. But women are caught in similar situations its our fault. As women we are more at risk and should know our drinking “limits” while men get these “get out of jail free” cards because they were drunk. The fact that we have limits and men have free range or don’t run the risk of being sexually assaulted is a prime example of the privilege we learned about in class.

  1. I have never thought about this before, but that is so true. Just another thing that perpetuates rape culture. Crazy.

  2. I love this, especially the way that it's phrased and presented. Words can be very powerful in a movement like this, and posing a question in this way really makes a person think, Why IS it different for a man to drink v a woman to drink, and why does it make a difference if a sexual assault occurs? (From EITHER side)
