1. Hurt marriage by encouraging women to work or form their own identity before marrying, making them older and too tired for sex and causing men to go without their 'favorite past time' and causing the desire for marriage to decrease as well as the ease at which men find sex.
2. More children are in daycare/childcare where they aren't properly discipline which is the cause for all bad kids, obesity, and bullying.
3. The two people working in a home makes it hard to live without life's luxuries.
4. Ruined college sports because Title IX ended many male-only sports.
5. Emasculated men because they fear charges of harassment or social shaming as a chauvinist when they speak up.
My Response:
1. Are women supposed to be at the beck and call of all of men's sexual desires? Is it really they're too tired for sex or is there a lack of communication and romance needed for women to desire sex? I suppose that's an entirely different story about the lack of proper sexual education. What's more disturbing is this idea that women are expected to have sex with men in order to keep them happy, because if they don't have sex with them every time they desire it then it's their fault when they find someone else to have sex with. I also have a huge problem with the claim that men always want sex. Are they incapable of being too mentally and physically exhausted for their penis to work (answer is no).
2. Lack of discipline doesn't come from a child being in a daycare, but being a part of an overcrowded and understaffed facility ran by unqualified people. How is daycare responsible for the excess amounts of high fructose corn syrup that your child consumes and lack of exercise?
3. Many families have two people working to afford basic necessities, car payments don't seem like a "luxury" to me.
4. What is a male-only sport? I understand that interest in sports is not necessarily taken into account in Title IX, but football is still one of the biggest collegiate sports. Wrestling is the only other male only sport I'm really familiar with and I don't think schools are necessarily dropping them due to Title IX, I'm more inclined to believe they provide less profit and even the Olympics has dropped it!
5. I understand the worry about being called chauvinistic and false charges of harassment from zealots, but to say that this is the emasculation of men makes me wonder what it means to be masculine? Is it to be dominant and aggressive? I would counter that women are in the same situation fearing that they be seen as "bitches" or "emotional" when they want to speak up or mouth off.
The other website that I found to be most enraging however is a site title "Return of Kings" http://www.returnofkings.com/category/culture go ahead and check it out if you ever doubt that there are people who really want men to be in charge as the 'natural' order is for them to be alpha, because we are definitely a society which relies on physical aggression as the basis of success and survival. I strongly suggest avoiding the comment section as stupidity and backless claims abound. I have to imagine that there is probably something just as crazy from women claiming to be feminists, but for some reason that website isn't on Google's first search page..
Really Interesting!!
ReplyDeleteThat is all true. A lot is on how the media portrays feminism.
ReplyDeleteI think that another point that needs to be fit in here is lesbianism and where does it fall when women are supposed to be at the beck and call of men? also who says that there are two people working in the household, maybe the father is a stay at home dad. Does phyilis have an issue with this does she think that there is a lack of dignity in the father watching over his children?
