Ok, first off, I’m not really sure what exactly they were
trying to portray here; yes, I am often slow with jokes, but I don’t see how
this is relevant to selling the car at all. Second, I would give two thumbs up
and a high five for the person who wrote that in; they are awesome!
I’m not sure when or where this picture was taken, but it
looks like an older picture from the black and white and style of the car.
However, even if it was taken years and years ago, it still isn’t acceptable. I
don’t know why people think (and thought) it is okay to put these things on
billboards and other forms of advertisement. This screams sexual harassment to
me, and it should not be on this board.
Also, I will say I laughed out loud when I saw this. Not
only does the sentence the person wrote in totally go with what was said, but
it is such a good slam against the advertisement. Someone needs to stand up to
this injustice, because it isn’t right. They were definitely very bold and
brave; I don’t think I would have the guts to do this. (Even though I would
totally be thinking something like that too!)
Ugh... so many problems with the original advertisement. The nerve. But I love this little form of protest! So witty.
ReplyDeleteThe original ad is obviously very disappointing and I do enjoy the witty response. It is a shame that ads so often stoop to mindless sexism.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that someone made a point to object to this car ad, but unfortunately it's a mainstay in advertising to objectify women and exude a sexist sentiment in order to sell a product. With that being said, I think it's important that people become conscious of this fact because I think it's the first step to change.
ReplyDeleteThat was very disturbing to see that anyone would write that. The advertisement did not help at all to sell the car. It is good to see that someone stood up, or protested, against the advertisement.
